Homemade Parts
Well since I am cheap I decided to make a windsheild riser instead of spending $50 on one. Here it is made from an old Danger sign.
More of the Same
So Thursday night I was getting everything packed and thought hey I should set the preload since it was bottoming so much on the last trip. I proceeded to turn the adjusting bolt when I found the adjustment cam had broken and was on the lowest setting. This is a problem. The stock KLR is set up for a 150# Rider, I am 225# plus 75# of gear. Looks like it's time to upgrade the suspension. dang it! I found what I needed through WPS (These guys have been great even after closing the larger shop and doing very little wrenching.) Ricor front and rear suspension was ordered through my sales rep but I failed to have him expedite shipping so the delivery shows that it will be Wednesday before it arrives. What?? I am leaving at 3AM Wednesday. Friday I order another set of Ricor Suspension and get it coming Next Day Air.
Now its Sunday I am tracking the shipments the Rear is coming from Idaho and will be here Monday but front is coming from Indiana and shows that it has not left the warehouse. Maybe the site is wrong, or at least I hope it is.
